I participate actively in my LoCo and in irc... I never thought of asking for help about OO.o mainly because I barely use it nowadays. For my daily use I'm happy with just a text editor (Kate, or Vim work just fine) or I can also use Abiword. My computer is pretty new, so there's no reason why OO.o should go slow; I might investigate the issue further and report a bug if a report is due. I'm pretty sure my gtk settings might have something to do with the speed issue (I use KDE). @joeamined: thanks for the suggestion. Maybe if you ask for help in ubuntu forums or irc chat channel, you'll get a solution to your specific problem.
